How to Check if Your System Can Run Windows 7

Microsoft’s upcoming operating system: Windows 7 has caught attention of a large number of computer Geeks. If you’re curious too to get your hands on to Windows 7 and Install it into your PC, the first thing to make sure is that whether your PC can run Windows 7 or not?

If you own an old PC and not sure if your PC can run Windows 7, then checkout the official Windows 7 System Requirements:

  • 1 GHz processor (32- or 64-bit)
  • 1 GB of RAM (32-bit); 2 GB of RAM (64-bit)
  • 16 GB of available disk space (32-bit); 20 GB of available disk space (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

***If you are using Windows Vista on your PC, then most probably Windows 7 will run on your PC.***

Downlaod Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Step 2

After downloading the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, just install and open it.

Now click on Start Check button.

Windows 7 upgrade advisor will start checking the compatibility of your computer’s processor, memory and storage, graphic cards with Windows 7.

Then it will come up with the results showing whether your PC is compatible with Windows 7 or not.

Note: This application will also give you suggestions to make your system suitable for Windows 7.

If your system meets the requirements you can go ahead and install, otherwise look into the suggestions to see if you can resolve the issues.
