Save Documents .docx as .doc Automatically in Word 2010/2007

Old version of Microsoft Word 2003 is capable to open the latest file format docx of Word 2010/2007. When we work in groups lot of times it happens that any of group member still working in previous version Word 2003 and requests to convert the Word 2007 (docx) file to Word 97-2003 (doc) format that is why we are giving you a tip which will automatically save docx to doc format and then that will be easy for you to exchange your documents with others who work in Word 97-2003.

So, just follow these simple steps to save .docx as .doc format automatically.

Step 1

In Word 2010: Click on File tab > Options

In Word 2007: Click on Office button > “Word Options

Step 2

Click Save option from left pan, select Word 97-2003 Document from “Save files in this format” dropdown list and click OK to make changes affective and that’s all

Now your Word 2010/ 2007 (.docx) will automatically save your documents in .doc format.

This was one of our concerns before upgrading as we work with so many different translators who are still using 2003 (.doc). Thanks for clarifying this – we’ll be happily making the upgrade now.

This microsoft 2010 is terrible. Why did they make it so
complicated.

While creating documents in word; sometime disappears while you’re typing. Sometimes I loose documents in my computer and can’t find them.
