How to Use Bluetooth Headset with Mac

If you have a bluetooth headset for your mobile phone then you can use the same headset with your Mac computer as well. So to use Bluetooth headset with Mac computer follow the method written below. This guide is created using Mac OS X Snow leopard.

Use Bluetooth headset with Mac

Step-1

Click on “Mac” icon and select “System Preference”.

Click on “Bluetooth” icon.

Click on “Setup new device” button to find bluetooh devices (make sure bluetooth headset is turned on/discoverable).

Step-3

Select the Bluetooth headset name and click on “Continue” button.

Step-4

If your Bluetooth headset paired successfully then you will this message as shown below. Click “Quit” button.

Step-5

Select the Bluetooh headset and click on settings icon then select appropriate option as show below.

Step-6

You will see the Bluetooth is connected now showing green tiny icon.

Now play some audio/video and check the Bluetooth headset is working.

You can use Nokia BH-503 Bluetooth headset with Mac using same method.

you don’t have to make your computer discoverable unless you’re attempting to transfer files or something. you only have to make your headset discoverable. for the nokia headsets, you just hold the multi-function button for 2 seconds and it will rapidly blink blue — this means it’s discoverable.

having your computer in discoverable mode will just eat into the available bluetooth bandwidth. it’s actually a bad idea unless you’re using it, that’s why it’s off by default.
