How to Enable HD Video Recording on iPhone 3GS

Now you can record HD or Super HD video on your iPhone 3GS. If you want to enable HD video recording on iPhone 3GS then follow step by step guide to do that easily.

Note:

  • Your iPhone must be jailbroken, see how to jailbreak iPhone 3GS.
  • Using this mod for long may overheating of the CPU or broken auto-focus so be careful.

Step 1

SSH into your iPhone, follow these links to SSH into iPhone on Mac / Windows.

Step 2

After getting access to iPhone root directory,

Download this HDVideo3GS-rev4.zip file and extract it. There will be HD and Super HD folders, if you use Super HD files then you can record much high res video but only at 15fps video.

Copy the all three .plist files from HD or Super HD folder to the following iPhone folder /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Celestial.framework/N88/ (Backup the original files)

Step-3

Restart your iPhone.

All is done, you have successfully enabled HD video recording on iPhone 3GS. Now record some video and test it.

Can anyone confirm, after enabling HD on the 3GS –> can the HD videos be edited in Reeldirector app ver 3.2 ?
