How to Export RSS Feeds from Google Reader

Google Reader will get retire on 1st July, 2013 according to the announcement made by Google through an official blog. Now, its recommanded for Google Reader users to transfer their data to any other RSS service before Google Reader go expired.

Export Google Reader RSS Feeds

Step-1

Go to Google Takeout and get login with your Google account

Step-2

Click “CREATE ARCHIVE” button

It will start building a copy of all the data from your Google account and when process gets complete click on “Download” button there

Unzip downloaded folder, open the extrected folder and navigate through “Reader” folder and copy “subscriptions.xml” file and place it on desktop of your computer

Import Google Reader RSS Feeds

Step-1

Open any RSS application which you have installed on your computer

Step-2

Click on its Import button and browse “subscriptions.xml” file from desktop and RSS app will start importing all of your Google Reader feeds automatically and thats it

So, get hurry to export your Google Reader RSS feeds and subscriptions before 1st July, 2013 as after that date Google Reader will not be available any more.
