How to Turn off “Read Receipts” on WhatsApp Messenger

WhatsApp is one of the most well-known and used socializing app these days. It surely does not need any introduction it is very well known among iOS and Android users. WhatsApp is used widely due to its wide functionality, features and interface. It won’t be wrong if we call it one of the most common socializing App these days as every other device has it downloaded.

WhatsApp recently added a new feature “Read Receipts” AKA Blue ticks letting people see exactly when someone read message, not just delivered. The blue tick appears when someone has read your texts. These blue ticks or read receipts have resulted in end of many friendships as well as relationships. Well if your relationship is in trouble due to these ticks and you are habitual lazy person to reply lately! You are at a right place we have a solution to disable these read receipts AKA Blue ticks on whatsApp messenger!

Android Devices

  • Make sure you have latest version of WhatsApp messenger on your device.
  • Open the WhatsApp open app settings, Go to menu Settings > Account > Privacy.
  • Uncheck Read Receipts and you are done!

Note: If you cant see Read Receipts check box, you might have older version of WhatsApp installed even you upgraded from Google Play. So you have to go to official website and download WhatsApp apk 2.11.444 file (To install apk file outside Play store you have to enable option Settings > Security > Unknown Sources). After enabling this option just open the downloaded WhatApp apk file and install it.
