To erase data from a rewritable disc, obviously you need CD/DVD burning software installed on your system but Windows 7 give you a built-in option to erase rewritable CD or DVD which allows users to perform that task easily without the help of any third party application.
How to erase rewritable Cd / DVD in Windows 7
Step 1
Just insert CD/DVD in the disc drive, then open “My Computer” and under “Devices with Removable Storage“, right click on CD/DVD-RW Drive and click on Erase this disc

nice windows 7 tip
Windows 7 make it easy to erase data from rewritable dvd
i didn’t get any option after right click on DVD writer. Please help me out.
i love windows 7
Unfortunately, when I click on the dvd icon the the window opens, it has no “Erase this disc”, just format, then eject then copy, etc.
Why, oh why
i like windows 7
In Windows 7 when erasing a CD-RW disk, the application hangs in the “erasing files screen” after the green progress bar has moved fully to the right.
I cannot cancel the operation or close the program from the screen nor eject the disk. I can only retrieve the disk by a full re-start whereupon I discover that the original files were never erased.
Anyone got any ideas?
