How to Customize Windows 7 Start Menu

In Windows OS Start Menu is a place which provides direct access to Programs, Utilities, Documents etc. You can customize Start menu according to your requirement and especially Windows 7 users are more free to tweak with Start menu settings. So, in following we just have a look on Start menu customization settings to introduce readers with the process.

Step 1

Simply right click on “Start/Windows button” and click “Properties” from menu

Step 2

Under “Start Menu” tab click “Customize…” button

Step 3

The following window will open where you may customize various Start menu settings. For example you do not want to show Control Panel in Start menu then simply select the option “Don’t display this item” under “Control Panel” section and click “OK” button to make the change affective

Now, Control Panel will not be available anymore in Start menu items list. In the same way you may do several changes to Start menu and hide Documents, from the same above window.
