How to Root Kindle Fire Using Mac OS X or Linux

Root Kindle Fire Using Mac OS X or Linux

Step-1

On your Kindle Fire home screen, tap on “Settings” icon resides in right upper corner of screen

Step-2

Select “More” > “Device”

Step-3

Toggle the ON/OFF slider to “ON” state, followed by the option “Allow Installation of Applications”

Step-4

Connect your Kindle Fire to computer via USB

Step-5

Tap on “Disconnect” button appears at the bottom of screen

Mac OS X Users

Step-1

Download KindleFireRootMacLinux.zip and extract it

Step-2

Launch “Terminal” by navigating through “Finder” > “Applications” > “Utilities”

Step-3

Type and execute following command in terminal to enter into the unzipped folder created in step 1

cd Downloads/KindleFireRootLinux

Step-4

Type and execute following commands in terminal one after one

mkdir ~/.android

cp adb_usb.ini ~/.android/.

./adb-mac kill-server

./adb-mac devices

sh runmemac.sh

Step-5

Kindle Fire will reboot, start backup and after that your Kindle Fire will be rooted

Linux Users

Step-1

Download KindleFireRootMacLinux.zip and extract it

Step-2

Launch terminal and type and execute following command to enter into the unzipped folder created in step 1

cd Downloads/KindleFireRootLinux

Step-3

sudo mkdir ~/.android

sudo cp adb_usb.ini ~/.android/.

./adb-linux kill-server

./adb-linux devices

sh runmelinux.sh

Step-4

Kindle Fire will reboot, start backup and after that your Kindle Fire will be rooted
