Whenever Apple announces latest iOS or OS X versions then first its available for developers only. To download pre-release beta software you need an Apple Developer Account which will costs you $99 annually. You don’t need to spend this money until you are a developer and really want to. To get pre-release versions or OS X or iOS Betas you can join the Apple Beta Software Program and as a member of this program you can test per-releases versions and let Apple know about your feedback.

How to Sign up for Apple Beta Software Program

Anyone can join this beta program that have a valid Apple ID and then you need to accept beta program’s agreement when signing up.

  • Create an Apple ID if you don’t have one already.
  • Open Beta program page and then click the Sign up button.
  • On the next page enter your Apple ID and password and hit the Sign in button.
  • Accept the beta program’s agreement and that’s it.
    *Make sure to read Apple’s beta program agreement.

You will see a “Thank you for joining…” message and Apple will notify you via email when iOS or OS X downloads are available.
