How to Completely Hide the Pictures from Photos App on iPhone or iPad

Before the release of iOS 14, If you want to hide the pictures in the Photos app you just need to move them in the Album name Hidden Albums. This way the pictures are just hidden from the main all photos but not actually hidden, you can easily view from the Hidden Album.

In iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, they added an option to hide the hidden album from the Photos app. So anything you put in the Hidden Album will be actually hidden from the Photos app.

How to hide pictures

  1. Open up the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad, Tap the Photos tab at the bottom.
  2. Now, to start selecting the pictures that you want to hide, see the top-right corner of the screen and Tap Select.
  3. Start selecting the pictures that you want to hide.
  4. Once done selecting, Tap the Share icon at the bottom-left corner of the screen.
  5. On the sharing screen, scroll down a  bit and Tap the Hide option. Next, just confirm to hide the selecting pictures from the library. You successfully hide the pictures from the library but it can be viewed from the Hidden Album.

To hide the Hidden Album from the Photos follow the next steps. You must have iOS, iPadOS 14 or later version installed on your device.

Hide the Hidden Album from Photos

  1. Open up the Settings app on your device.
  2. Scroll down and tap the Photos app to modify the settings.
  3. On the next screen, make sure the “Hidden Album” switch is turned off.

You successfully hide the Hidden album from Photos. If you ever want to view these hidden pictures, just go to Settings > Photos, and tun on the Hidden Album switch.

I know Hidden album is the album where I can go straight to find some good stuff 🙂 instead of finding it in the huge list of photos. Well, sometimes when you showing pictures to someone on your iPhone and there are few pictures that you don’t want to come in the way while swiping. The hidden album is the folder where you can put these pictures.

This is how you can hide the photos and then hide the Hidden Album from the Photos app. Apple should add the option to put a passcode/Touch ID on an album. Well, there might be some reasons they didn’t allow to do that. But, hiding pictures and then hiding the hidden album may not fulfill the purpose for you.
