How to Maximize the MacBook Battery Life

Apple MacBooks already have very good reputation in terms of battery timing but you can drag it bit further and save some more battery charge.  Batteries condition plays very important role in portable computers, with a little bit of care you can get most from battery life. let’s see we can maximize the battery life of MacBook, MacBook Pro or MacBook Air.


Tips to Maximize the battery life

Proper Charging and Discharging

Don’t plug in power adapter all the time, If you are not a frequent traveler and use your notebook at the desk then be sure to charge and discharge the notebook battery fully once a month.

Environment Temperature

Working environment also effects on notebook performance and battery life, Apple notebooks work best from 50° to 95°F.

For Long time storage

If you are not using your MacBook for a long time then store your battery with 50% charge. Make sure to store your MacBook at the right temperature.

Update software

Make your notebook software is up-to-date, Apple release frequent updates that may improve battery performance.

Adjust Screen Brightness

To maximize the battery life, dim the screen brightness to the comfortable level. Even if the room lights are off, I am sure you don’t need the full-screen brightness.

AirPort/Wireless Settings

If AirPort turned on it always consumes battery power even you are not using this, you can turn the AirPort off to save some power.

Bluetooth Settings

If Bluetooth is on it also behaves like AirPort and consumes battery. So turn the Bluetooth off when not in use.

Peripherals or CDs/DVDs

Eject CDs or DVDs if you are not using them and disconnect peripherals as well.

Quit Applications

Quit all background applications that are not in use.
