How to Take Screen Shots on Mac with Keyboard Short Keys

To take a screen shot on Mac is not a difficult task, you just have to remember some keyboard shortcut keys and create quick screen shots according to your requirement. Here we share some methods to take screen shots on Mac.

Save Mac screen shots on desktop

Use following commands to take screen shots according to your requirement. Mac will store your screen shots on desktop

Command + Shift + 3
Takes full screen picture

Command + Shift + 4
Your mouse pointer will converted to a different icon, use this to specify a region of screen

Command + Shift + 4, and then press Space bar
And click on specific element of screen as a window, Dock, menu, icon etc….It’ll capture that specific element screen shot

Save Mac screen shots on clipboard

By using following commands, you can save your captured screen shot on clipboard and then paste them in any other image editing program.

Command + Control + Shift + 3
Takes full screen picture and saves on clipboard

Command + Control + Shift + 4
Your mouse pointer will converted to a different icon, use this to specify a region of screen and it saves that screen shot on clipboard

Command + Control + Shift + 4, and then press Space bar
And click on specific element of screen as a window, Dock, menu, icon etc….It’ll capture that element’s screen shot and saves on clipboard
