How to Recover Windows Live Hotmail Password
If you you have forgotten your Hotmail or Live email password, then goto http://login.live.com and you need to click on the Forgot password link just below where you would normally sign in from.
1. Click over the link “Forgot your Password?”.
2- To recover your hotmail or live password give your email address and also enter the given code in the related field and click continue. As shown in the figure.
3. Choose one option as you like and convenient whatever you specified at the time of signing up. I am choosing “Send yourself a password reset email message“.
Select “Send an e-mail message to my alternate e-mail address” choose this option if you specify alternate email at the time of signing up otherwise in previous step choose the second reset password option of “answer your secret question”
6. Please check your email account, and follow the instruction in email message to recover email password.
Important Note:
Make sure you choose your password carefully and keep it safe. If possible, do not write it down because it is easier for people to get access to it. Let it be your secret. To help protect your personal information, change your password regularly.

If you didn’t set the alternate email while creating your email account and also forgot secrete question, then the only way to reset you password is send an email to Hotmail Live support.
Follow this link http://windowslivehelp.com/post.aspx?productid=10&cancel=product.aspx?productid=10 login using another working email account and send them your question to recover hotmail password.
I see your post however, after I type in that secret word, I only get two options to either have password info sent to my email or alternate email. There is no line option regarding using account information? Not sure why, but wondering how to access that option since I did not set up an alternate email.
I changed my password on my original Hotmail account (wanderingsteve@hotmail.com)and got locked out. Have tried to get it back with no luck. I did not have and alternative e mail account and no postcode was required when I set the account up 15 years ago, no problem with the secret question. Please help!!

I am trying to recover my password, but a secret question in Spanish keeps coming up!! I don’t know why it is in Spanish or what it says! Makes me think the website is fake.
Its been about a week since i forgot my password to my account(ibitoyetg), and tried to reset it. But also forgot the password to my alternative email given at the time i set up an account with hotmail.
each time i try to reset it sends a confirmation to my alternative email which i have not been using for over 2years now. every of my life important details associated to this said email account. What do i do please??

The only problem is that they’ve changed up hotmail, it’s so lame cause i don’t remember the password to my alternate email and they don’t have a option for the secret question… There’s no way i can get my damn password back! It’s so frusturating.. Someone please help me.
