Untethered Jailbreak of iOS 5.0.1 with PwnageTool 5.0.1
Requirements:
- Create a folder on your desktop with the name untether to put downloaded stuff below
- Download PwnageTool 5.0.1
- Download iOS 5.0.1
Step-1
Double click on downloaded PwnageTool, drag and drop PwnageTool icon into the Pwnage folder

Open Pwnage folder and double click on PwnageTool application and click on “OK” button

Click “Expert mode” option from top menu bar

Select your iDevice from available images, in result a check mark will appear with selected image, then click blue arrow button to go next

Click “Browse for IPSW…”

Navigate to your untether folder to select iOS 5.0.1 firmware file and click “Open” button

Click on “General” and then click next button

Do some “General settings”, according to your requirement and click next button

Click “Download packages” tab > “Refresh” and then double click on packages whatever you want to download to make them available under “Select packages” tab

Click “Select packages” and check mark the boxes followed by your required packages and click next button

On “Custom Packages Settings” windows just click blue arrow to go next

Click “Build” button

Save “custom .ipsw file” to untether folder created on desktop

“Building IPSW” process will start, which takes about 10 minutes

Provide “administrator password” and click “OK”

When IPSW will get built, you have to connect your iDevice to computer with USB

When it detects your iDevice, you have to follow on screen instructions to put your iDevice into DFU mode

When your iDevice will enter successfully into DFU mode, PwnageTool asks to open iTunes

In iTunes, press and hold “Alt”/”Option” key and click on “Restore” button

Go to untether folder on desktop, select “custom IPSW” file which was just created and open

iTunes starts restore process on your iDevice, which may take about 10 minutes
On restore process completion, your iDevice will reboot and then you will have untethered jailbroken 5.0.1 iDevice in your hands.
