How to Create Shortcut to Open Google Chrome Directly in Incognito Mode

Almost every web browser offers incognito of private browsing mode. Google Chrome also offers Incognito Mode, which means we can visit website without leaving any kind of trace. Incognito Mode disables history, deletes cookies and any kind of third-party Chrome Extensions.
Google Chrome Incognito Mode is very useful for having some kind of businesses, purchasing some gifts for surprise etc. For security reasons you will be identify through IP address and Malware or viruses can still effects to you.

You can simple access Incognito Mode of Google Chrome by pressing the keys Ctrl+Shift+N (Windows) and Command+Shift+N (Mac OS X). If you are regularly use Incognito Mode then this trick is for you. You can create a dedicated custom shortcut for direct access to Chrome Incognito Mode. We can do that by adding few attributes to the shortcut address.

  • After installing Google Chrome it will create a Chrome shortcut on your desktop. Right-click on it and select Properties option from the menu.
    1If you don’t have that shortcut on the desktop, go to the folder where you installed the Google Chrome. Normally its available in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\". Here right-click on the chrome.exe file and select the option Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).
  • On the next shortcut properties window, under the shortcut tab add a command line instruction. Simply add “-incognito” without quotations at the end of existing target path or address. If you installed 32bit Google Chrome then simply copy and paste below command in the target path and click Save and then OK.

  • We can also change icon for differentiate between default mode and Incognito Mode. To change the icon select the Change Icon button in shortcut tab and select the icon that you want to set. Google it to find Chrome incognito Mode icon.

Once you run Google Chrome in Incognito mode, there is a Spy icon on the top-left corner of the browser that shows you are in Incognito mode.
