How to Turn On/Off “Automatically hide and show the menu bar” in macOS Big Sur

Where is the option to hide and show the menu bar in macOS Big Sur? This might be the question when you start to try to modify this option and couldn’t find at the place where it was available in the previous versions os macOS.

Before the macOS Bug Sur, the option to automatically show and hide the menu bar was available under the System Preferences > General section. Now in Big Sur, Apple moved it under the System Preferences > Dock & Menu Bar section. If you want to change the menu bar settings follow the given steps below.

How to Turn On “Automatically hide and show the menu bar” macOS Big Sur

  1. On macOS Big Sur 11, click the Apple menu on the top-left corner of the screen.
  2. Click the System Preference option from the menu.
  3. Now, select the “Dock & Menu Bar” option to view all the related settings.
  4. Here, on the right side you can see the Menu Bar section at the bottom. Just turn On the “Automatically  hide and show the menu bar” and changes will reflect instantly. Take your mouse curose to the top corner and you will see the menu bar again.

If you want to stop menu bar from disappearing or always show the menu bar, just follow the above given steps from 1 to 3 and turn of the option and alway view the menu bar on the screen.
