The guide below works to do untethered jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 with PwnageTool 5.1.1 over iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G and iPad 1.

Untethered Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 with PwnageTool 5.1.1
Requirements
Download PwnageTool 5.1.1
Download iOS 5.1.1
Note: Keep these downloaded files on desktop.
Step 1
Double click on PwnageTool.dmg file, and the double click on PwnageTool.app. Click “OK” if a warning message appear
Step-2
Click “Expert Mode” option. Then click on your iDevice from available options and hit Next button
Step-3
Click “Browse for IPSW” button, navigate and select downloaded iOS 5.1.1 firmware file from your desktop
Step-4
Select “General” and click Next
Note: iPhone users must check mark the box followed by “Activate the phone” option if using an unofficial carrier.
Step-5
Keep moving Next until you reach to the windows where you selected “General”, and this time click there on “Build” option and click Next arrow
Step-6
PwnageTool asks to specify a destination to save custom iOS 5.1.1 firmware, and then it starts building Custom IPSW process
Note: PwnageTool asks for admin password during building process, so provide that
Step-7
Once custom IPSW build process done, PwnageTool instructs users to connect iDevice to Mac
Step-8
Now, follow on screen instructions to put your iDevice into DFU mode
Press and hold the Power + Home buttons for 10 seconds
Release the Power button but keep holding the Home button for 10 seconds
Step-9
When your iDevice will get enter into DFU mode, “iTunes has detected an iPhone…..” message will display, click OK. iTunes will pop-up
Step-10
In iTunes window, press “Alt” / “Option” key and click “Restore” button. Browse to select recently created custom iOS 5.1.1 firmware file from desktop and click “Open”
Note: You have to select Custom iOS 5.1.1 file which is created by PwnageTool not the stock one.
Step-11
iTunes starts Restore process on your iDevice, that may take 10 minutes.
Done! your iDevice is now running over untethered jailbroken iOS 5.1.1 firmware with PwnageTool 5.1.1.
