Go to Settings > Accessibility > Direct access and turn the switch on top-right corner. Now you can turn different available option that you want to access with triple tap Home button.

Download booster
To increase the download speed you can enable download booster option from Settings > More connection settings > Download booster and turn it on. Actually this option force the phone to use both WiFi and LTE connection at the same time while downloading any file larger than 30MB in size.

Screen grid

Change screen grid to increase number of icons on the screen. Tap and hold on the empty location of screen and then you can see different options will be available. You can either set the grid option to 4×4, 4×5 or 5×5. So it means you can adjust 25 apps icons on one page.

AllTogether app

Download and install Samsung AllTogether apps to use your phone as walkie talkie and of course you don’t need any WiFi or 3G/4G connection for this. Using this app you can also communicate and share date in the group.

Split screen view

You can use two apps at the same time on your Galaxy S6 screen. This functionality called split screen view, to enable this option just hold the App switcher button on the left side of Home button and then select two apps one by one to run in their own separate view. To adjust different settings for split screen you can click on the button in the middle of screen. I love the Drag and drop content feature of multi window, like you can select text from a website and drop into your messaging app right in split screen view.

Floating window

You can change a full screen app into floating window app. Swipe from right-top corner of the app towards middle of the screen and you will notice app is floating now. There is a button on the top of this floating window, tap that to access few settings like you can convert this floating app in to floating icon just like Facebook Messenger. You can also go to recent apps list, then tap and hold on the title of any background app to convert it to floating app.

Note: You can put maximum five floating application on the screen.

Ultra power saving mode

This power saving option is really nice addition that can save more power as compare to the simple Power Saving mode. When you enable Ultra power saving mode on your phone this will turn off all unnecessary options, limit the number of usable apps, dimming the screen brightness and turn the screen to grayscale theme as well.

Dictionary and Translation

You can easily see the meaning of any word using this cool feature. Select any word by tapping and holding on it, this will popup the copy and paste menu. along with copy and paste button you have a dictionary icon as well. Tap this icon to get the meaning of select word in English and translation in different languages that you downloaded. You can download different dictionaries under manage dictionaries settings.

Send SOS message

If you are in trouble or danger then you can press the Power button of the phone three times. Doing this phone will capture images using front and back camera of the phone, record audio and then send a SOS message to a primary contact. You can set this primary contact in the “Privacy and Safety” options under phone settings.

Health and care

With the help of S Health application and heart rate monitor on the back of the phone you can check heart rate, blood oxygen level, etc. On the right side of back camera there is a heart rate monitor, just put your finger on it and use the S Health app.

Night mode clock

The trick is specific to S6 Edge phone, swipe your finger right and left on the edge of touch screen to view the clock. Is also show some battery related information as well.

Developer settings

Setting > About device  and here tap on Build number several time to enable the developer mode.

I will update this list when I found some more interesting tricks, If you do know any tips as well please share with use below in comments, Thanks.

I had a galaxy s 3. This s 6 will not do apps in list view in alphabetical order.
When I go to Yahoo I could double tap and the fonts were bigger for me to read and it stayed within the borders of the phone. The S 6 won’t do that. I liked my galaxy S3 better. Things were the left out on this s6. I liked the menu button on the bottom left.

It will you just have to tell it to reorder them A-Z in the top right when looking at your apps. It doesn’t do it by default because you can relist the apps in any order you wish in this menu.

I really like the ability to select a word and use the dictionary feature, but I only have an english dictionary and there are no other dictionaries to download under manage dictionaries. How do I get other dictionaries?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus from Verizon running Lolipop 5.1.1
I don’t have the dictionary or translator options when selecting words. I’ve added additional languages, but there’s still not an option to translate or get dictionary lookup.

I also can’t find the personal dictionary that used to be in settings on my Samsung S4.

The clipboard doesn’t allow for items to be locked there anymore. This was helpful when deleting all items except for locked items on clipboard.

Are these not available anymore?

Type a word in a text box and press and hold it. A list of options will appear and at the end will be the dictionary. If you don’t have it you can download it, it was like 6.6MB on my Sprint phone.

As for the personal dictionary I think the only edits we can do are adding words when you type them in and select them as the correct word in the predictive text box. As for removing learned words you can long press a word in that same area and it will say it will be removed from learned words after you select “Ok”. I think they did this to streamline the dictionary more since you don’t really need to see a list of words it has learned. Was very annoying trying to find the option though.
