Is it UEFI or Legacy, View the Current BIOS Version and Mode on your PC

Do you want to know the BIOS information of your PC? In this guide, you will learn how to view the BIOS-related information like the Version and current BIOS mode. You can either check the BIOS version from the System information or find it using a command in the Windows Command Prompt. So, without any delay let’s see how to do it.

Find BIOS Version and MODE from System Information

  1. We need to open the system information so, click the Start button.
  2. Type System information and it will instantly show you the best match in the search. Click the System Information from the search results.
  3. In the System Information window, select the System Summary option in the left panel. On the right side, you can see the value for the item BIOS Mode. On my PC it’s Legacy and you might find UEFI on your computer. BIOS mode is required when you want to create a Windows USB drive using software like RUFUS. Not only that you can also check the BIOS version, which is BIOS Version/Date: Hewlett-Packard F18, 10/05/2011, and the SMBIOS Version is 2.7 on my computer.

This is how I found the current BIOS version and current BIOS Mode on my Windows computer.
