How to Downgrade iPhone 4S, iPad 2, and iPad 3 with Redsn0w

iPhone Dev Team’s RedSn0w 0.9.11b1 is capable to downgrade iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 5.0.1 over A5-devices like iPhone 4S, iPad 2 or iPad 3. So, guide written below will help people to downgrade firmware over A5-devices easily by using Redsn0w.


Note: Before proceeding further make it sure that you have saved SHSH blobs on Cydia or on your computer for your A5-device over which you are going to downgrade iOS firmware.

Downgrade iPhone 4S, iPad 2, iPad 3 with Redsn0w

Requirements:

Step-1

Advertisement

Extract and open Redsn0w

Step 2

Attach your iDevice to computer via USB cable

Step-3

Click on “Extras” on Redsn0w window

Step-4

Click on “Even more” on Redsn0w window

Step-5

Click “Restore”

Step-6

Click on “IPSW” button and browse for iOS 5.0.1 firmware file from your system

Step-7

Select iOS 5.1.1 firmware file

Step-8

Base band update warning message will display, read that carefully and then proceed further by clicking on “Yes”

Step-9

“Entering Recovery” mode message will display, so click “OK”

Step-10

Now, you have to restore blobs either by choosing Local blobs or Remote blobs option. If you choose “Local” then navigate to “.plist” file which contains the SHSH blobs or to use Remote blobs saved on Cydia simply use the other option “Remote” and let the restore process get complete
