Everyone loves to install and try new updates and Windows version like recently Microsoft released Windows 10 May update 2019 with many new features but every new update or version comes with bugs and glitches which are resolved with the passage of time.

If you are installing or upgrading Windows 10 on Mac machine using Apple Boot camp assistant software and getting “Mac HAL Driver – machaldriver.sys error, Your PC has a driver or service that isn’t ready for this version of Windows 10” then you are at right place. If you face this error then your Mac machine is older (manufactured prior 2012) or you might be running an older version of Windows support software or Apple boot camp assistant.

The latest version of Windows 10 May update 2019 does not support the older Mac devices which are manufactured prior to 2012. Windows\system32\drivers folder shows the error (Mac HAL Driver – machaldriver.sys error) because Mac with MacHALDriver.sys date is September 24, 2011, or older.

To solve this error and before we moved on, first you need to check the date of your Mac manufactured year. To do this, go to Apple menu and then About this Mac and check the manufactured date. If you are out of luck, means your Mac device is manufacture before 2012 then you don’t have to do anything except to wait for Microsoft to resolve this issue as they promise that they are working on a resolution.

If your Mac machine model is 2012 or newer then you just need to update the Apple boot camp assistant to the latest version. To update the boot camp assistant navigate to Apple menu, then the App Store and then install all the available update.
