If you have some important contacts in your SIM card and want these contacts to transfer into your Google’s gmail account then here is the easy way to import SIM contacts to gmail account on your iPhone.
This guide is tested on iPhone 4, 4S, iPhone 5 and later devices running iOS 7. I hope this guide will work on other iOS versions as well.

First you need to setup you gmail account on your iPhone, if you already have skip this step.
Step-1
Setup Gmail account to import contacts.
Open Settings from your iPhone then tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
> Add Account.
Choose Google
logo and enter the required account details and click Next.
Once your account detail is verified, choose what you want to sync with your iPhone. I select Mail and Contacts, you can turn on other option if you want to sync them as well. Tap the Save button to save the settings.
Step-2
Transfer SIM contacts to Google Account
Go to Settings
> Mail, Contacts, Calendars
> Import SIM Contacts
option.
It will ask you to select an account to transfer SIM contacts into, so select Gmail Account.
It will take few seconds to import SIM contacts.
Once done go to your Google account and check, all your contacts from iPhone SIM transferred to your Gmail account.
