iOS 12 Release Date and Supported iPhone or iPad Devices

At WWDC 2018, Apple announced the new iOS 12 for iPhone and iPad devices. The expected release date of final iOS 12 was in the month of september. At last at the iPhone event, Apple announced the release date of the Final version of iOS 12 which is September 17.

The final version of the iOS 12 isn’t released yet but Beta version is available to download for developers, iOS 12 Public beta will be available at the end of this month and final version expected in September that will be the default iOS for, dates are mentioned below.

iOS 12 isn’t a huge software update, but in this release, Apple added some new features and making existing iOS features more stable. Here, below you can see the iOS 12 release date and supported iPhone, iPad device.

iOS 12 release date

The final version of the iOS 12 will be available on September 17 for everyone. If your device is compatible with iOS 12 then a new update will be available to install in the Software Update section in the device Settings app. Before releasing the final version of iOS, Apple allow developers and public beta tester to test their latest iOS. • Developers: If you are a registered Apple developer then the download is available from June 4.
• Beta Program: Public Beta iOS 12 will be available end of June. Learn more about Apple Beta Program.
• Final software: iOS 12 Final version will be available on 17 September.

First, Apple release Developer Beta version for iOS. Only register developers can access this to download and install on their devices. To become a developer you have to pay $99 and sign up. This version may have bugs and you must not install it until you know about developer versions.

The second release of iOS will be for those who join the Public Beta Program. Public Beta is a much safer release that anyone can install on their iPhone or iPad.

Finally, after releasing few beta versions there will be a stable Final iOS 12 which is set to release on 17 September with the release of new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone HR. Anyone can install this update by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

If your iPhone or iPad can run iOS 11 then your device can also compatible with iOS 12. In other words, iPhone 5s, iPad mini2, and iPad Air and newer devices can run iOS 12.
